A tasting of organic wine!
Katherine Myers, a journalist for ELLE Magazine en France, shares her story about a tasting of organic wines in France...
'Each Spring in Avallon, a tiny town about halfway between Paris and Lyon on the edge of the famed Burgundy region, there’s a weekend long wine tasting event of all the organic vineyards in France. One such vineyard owner told me when I arrived, “With the organic wine there is no—how you say—hangover?” Challenge accepted, sir.
With just one croissant in my stomach, I was handed my first glass and pushed toward an idyllic smattering of men and women smiling and chatting behind barrels, arms extended and ready to pour. Mimicry was my closest ally so I held my glass by the stem and swirled the golden grape juice. I dipped my nose into the glass then took a small sip out of what I considered a glass filled with just one big sip. I held it in my mouth for a moment as the vineyard owner attempted a smile. I swallowed and gave a thumbs up.' - Katherine Myers for ELLE Magazine
