Work in the vineyard
Finally a much awaited week of sunshine! The wet weather prevents pruning due to disease – it has so far been a slow process. We have been hoping for more frosts and sunny days – hopefully they are yet to come to give us the opportunity to catch up. Even the local farmers are complaining as the ground is so wet that it prevents access onto farms. This is the time of year to trial different pruning and trellising techniques, we are always trying to improve production and quality of the vines and fruit!
At the moment we have two interns staying with us for 5 months, Paul from New Caledonia (studying Hospitality in Paris) & Christopher from Germany ( studying Wine Marketing & Management), they are both in their early twentys and spend a lot of their time working in the vineyard and helping us on the Sales and Marketing side of things. It is a hard work that is paying,,, especially when you taste the quality of the recently released wines!
